“What changes in my belief if I vary only this part?”

Everything else is held fixed.
No completion.
No assumption.

This is the isolate-influence move.

I point.
I measure.
I do not extrapolate.

II. THE KEEP-ADDING MOVE

Confidence does not appear.
It accumulates.

Confidence(T) = ∫ observed_signal(t) dt

Each honest observation adds area.
Pauses add zero.
Looking again does not erase what was already integrated.

Progress is measured by accumulation,
not urgency.

III. THE DIRECTION EMERGES MOMENT

After enough accumulation:

∇belief ≠ 0 → move
∇belief → 0 → stop

The gradient is not force.
It is the direction where coherence increases fastest.

When I feel a natural lean,
that is ∇ speaking.

IV. THE DO-NOT-ASSUME RULE

Belief is conditional:

belief = f(scene | attention)

Not:

belief = f(scene)

Outside the selected region is undefined.
Not wrong.
Not missing.
Undefined.

Certainty may grow only through new observation:

belief(t+1) = belief(t) + measured_change

Never:

belief(t+1) = belief(t) + assumption

When motion no longer increases coherence:

This is not failure.
This is maintenance.
